Peter Obi, on Thursday, met with Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Youth Leaders across the nation in Abuja in continuation of his nationwide consultations to become the party’s flag bearer for the 2023 general election.
Speaking to over 30 young leaders of the party in Abuja, Obi assured them that he has a blueprint to turn around the country into one they will all be proud of.
“We can’t continue with the way we’re going because it’s heading to disaster. Our country is like the Titanic where people at the top were busy dancing while the big ship was sinking from the bottom. Eventually, those at the top equally sank with the ship.
“It is time for you to decide between all aspirants from all parties after a thorough assessment and then choose your next President.
“You won’t be youth leaders forever…so what will you contribute now that you have the opportunity towards making our society a better place?
“Are we going to continue sharing? No. We’re going to start creating wealth. The mainstay of a producing economy is the youth because you’re at the thick of your productive ages. You need to be empowered via grants for micro and small scale industries. This is the department that boosts any country’s economy”, Obi said.
Responding, all the six zonal leaders assured the presidential aspirant that they will vote for their future.
The National Vice Chairman of the Youth Leaders, Timothy Osadolor said: “there is no better aspirant from all parties to rescue this nation from the sorry state we are than you, Your Excellency.
“This is no political talk. I have the instruction of our National Chairman, Youth Leaders to assure you that we stand with you 100%. Enough is enough.”
