No less than ten shops have been set on fire at the Dei-Dei building market Abuja as traders and hoodlums clashed on Wednesday.

Standard Observers gathered that trouble started when a truck crushed a woman who was being ferried by a reckless okada rider to death.

It was further gathered that the traders in the market, mostly of Igbo origin reportedly mobilized and set the motorcycle ablaze.

This, eyewitnesses said, angered by the development, hoodlums in the area, mostly Northerners invaded the market and set some shops ablaze.

As of the time of filing this report, gunshots were still heard in the area as security agencies tried to restore normalcy.

The fire service is also on the ground to stop the fire from spreading to other shops.
