Chief John Nnia Nwodo, the immediate past President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo has thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for snubbing the South East in his appointment of new service chiefs.
Buhari, on Tuesday, appointed new service chiefs after pressure from different quarters The newly appointed service chiefs include Major-General Leo Irabor, Chief of Defence Staff; Major-General Ibrahim Attahiru, Chief of Army Staff; Rear Admiral AZ Gambo, Chief of Naval Staff; and Air-Vice Marshal Isiaka Oladayo Amao, Chief of Air Staff. None of them came from the South East.

“Gen Buhari, thanks for making us in Igboland feel, once more, that we are not fit to head any of the Security services,” Nwodo said in a terse statement, according to Vanguard.
