Rivers Assembly gets 7 days ultimatum to settle outstanding allowances of parliamentary staff

Rivers State House of Assembly has been given 7 days ultimatum by Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria PASAN to address the issues of payment of outstanding outfit and committee allowances for the year 2013, 2014, 2019 and 2020 or face an indefinite industrial strike on the 14th of this month.

A statement issued and signed by the National General Secretary of the body D D SULEMAN said Thurs 14th Jan 2021 will be its final warning to the management of the assembly on its demands.

The statement said other demands of the workers include restoration of Legislative Duty Allowances, Implementation of Consolidated Legislative Salary Structure, reviving of Staff Training and Welfare Schemes

They are also demanding for an improvement on the deplorable work environment adding that most of the facilities in the Assembly complex are in a state of decay

The National secretariat of PASAN had on 15th September, last year 2020 issued a 21 days notice and another 14 ultimatum respectfully over the inability of the management of the state assembly to resolve the issues of their unpaid outfit and committee allowances.
