Barring unforeseen circumstances, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi will be unveiling his running mate on Thursday this week.
The running mate will replace Dr Doyin Okupe, Obi’s campaign manager who assumed the position in a placeholder capacity.
Dr Kachi Onanuju, a member of Obi’s campaign team who disclosed this on Monday did not say the particular region where the running mate will come from.
On the alliance with the former Kano State governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Onanuju echoed that the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP presidential candidate refused to be Obi’s running mate because of ego.
Kwankwaso had said that becoming Obi’s running mate will lead to the duo losing the election, adding that no Northerner will vote a presidential candidate from the South East.
