Panicky PDP launches attacks on Labour Party members in Enugu

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has been accused of launching attacks on the Labour Party in Enugu State.

Labour Party officials accused the PDP of using thugs to disrupt ward meetings and threatening them with violence.

They said such attacks will not help the dwindling fortunes of Ebeano/PDP in Enugu state,and urged the governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to call his party members to order.

A Labour Party Senatorial candidate, Okey Ezea also called on the Inspector-General of Police to arrest the thugs behind the shooting and disruption of LP meetings at Awgu on Sunday evening.

Recall that the gunmen on motorcycles shot at LP members meeting in Nenwe, Aninri LGA on Wednesday and also attacked Labour Party’s meeting at Ward 1 in Awgu Local Government Area on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Labour Party members in Ede Ukwu and Ede Nta wards in Ede Oballa community in Nsukka Local Government Area have said that the Ebeano/PDP agents are threatening landlords to evict them from offices they have already paid for, painted and decorated because they don’t want to see LP in that town.

A Labour Party chieftain in Ede Oballa, Silas Omeje who disclosed this to our correspondent said agents working for Vita Abba, a former state chairman of PDP are pressuring landlords to evict them from their offices.
