FG deploys more security agents to Anambra, as Obiano bans tinted glasses, covered plates

Anambra state Governor, Chief Willie Obiano has called on residents of the state to stay calm as the government handles the the security situation in the state.

Governor Obiano made the call at the Governor’s Lodge, Onitsha during a statewide broadcast to update residents on government’s efforts since recent security challenges heightened.

Obiano who condemned the attacks on security personnel, said the unrest in some parts of the state are planned and targeted attacks on security agents, stressing that efforts are on to apprehend the attackers.

While calling for support from traditional rulers, presidents general, youths, market task force teams, among others, the Governor hinted that the security council has met twice to deliberate on the issues, pointing out that coordinated efforts to sabotage the security architecture of the state will be resisted.

The Governor said that the Federal government has deployed more security agents to Anambra which means that there will be increased security activities around the state, calling for understanding.

While sympathizing with families of victims of the unrest, he announced that covered number plates and fitted tinted glass on private and commercial vehicles has been banned in Anambra henceforth.

Speaking on cultism and touting, and the video making rounds on social media about activities of rival cult groups, Obiano said that three of the cultists have been arrested and now being prosecuted, calling youths to shun cultism.

He called on security agents to arrest touts on the road disturbing people.

Concerning the kidnap and killing of the President General of Omor, Governor Obiano sympathized with the family, adding that massive deployment of security agents have been deployed to Omor axis to restore calm.
