A former House of Representatives member representing Etche/Omuma Federal Constituency in Rivers State , Jerome Eke, has died, barely ten days after his wife’s death.
His wife, Joan, died on the 5th of January 2020. The cause of her death is unknown.
According to family sources, Eke popularly known as Igolo Chim Chim died of heart attack on Friday morning at the age of 54.
A wealthy hotelier, he rose to prominence during the Peter Odili administration and financed several politicians to electoral victory.
In 2015, he won an election into the House of Representatives and served for a term of four years.
Tributes have poured for him on social media from friends and political associates.
