A lawyer, Azubuike Ihemeje has petitioned the Nigerian Police and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC over the activities of one Angela Nwosu.
The lawyer accused Mrs Nwosu of engaging in criminal hypnotizing and defrauding her Facebook followers.
In the petition titled “A CASE OF CYBER FRAUD, PROMOTING SELLING OF CHARMS, WITCHCRAFT, HYPNOTIZING MATERIALS, INVOCATION OF JUJU, TRIALS BY ORDEAL, OBTAINING MONEY (BILLIONS OF NAIRA) FROM PUBLIC BY FALSE PRETENSE AND OTHER SERIAL PUBLIC SCAMS PERPETRATED BY ONE ANGELA NWOSU AND NUMEROUS COHORTS USING FACEBOOK AND OTHER SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS’, the lawyer said nwosu’s activities have destroyed families and made victims to live in grief.
He urged the police and the commission to intervene and stop the trade.
The petition reads: “We write as public interest Solicitors and as patriotic citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with a deep
sense of responsibility to promote justice through adherence to regulations, and the laws of Nigeria, and to protect the public interest, integrity and safety of citizens of Nigeria and other members of the public.
“It is in the light of the above that we very respectfully, forward this public interest petition and request your urgent and immediate intervention on the subject under reference and state as follows:
1. That for a long period of time, the entire Facebook space has been submerged and littered with multiple posts, publications and advertisements requesting the general public to subscribe to or buy different criminal hypnotizing and charm items and materials in furtherance to acts of invocation of juju and witchcraft contrary to section 210 of the Criminal Code Act and sections 214, 215, 216 and
217 of the Penal Code Act, by one ANGELA NWOSU who resides around the Lekki area of Lagos State and reaches through her mobile number (WhatsApp enabled – 2347015292941]. She is also known on Facebook as – “ANGIE SOUNDMIND”.
2. That the said Angela Nwosu has actually defrauded Billions of Naira from thousands of Facebook users through her promotions, sales and actual invocation of juju, charms, witchcraft, hypnotic items and generally obtaining money by false pretence through Facebook posts-some containing videos and pictures of these prohibited juju materials.
3. That Angela Nwosu is a self-confessed, and self-acclaimed criminal witchcraft and promoter of all sorts of invocation of juju. Annexed are some of her posts on Facebook, in support of her crimes.
4. That Angela Nwosu through her serial frauds and proceeds of crime defrauded from the public, now lives in affluence, unexplainable wealth, with luxury vehicles/homes in ostentatious lifestyle in a highbrow area of Lekki, in Lagos. But she’s suspected to have eloped to Dubi UAE, with one Mr Soundmind her husband.
5. That despite our continuous educational posts and enlightenment campaigns against cybercrime, Ponzi schemes and other online criminal activities, especially on Facebook, cybercrime perpetrators like Angela have continued to devise new means to persevere in their unwholesome criminal activities.
6. If your intervention is not quickly and speedily activated, this Angela Nwosu invocation of juju, sales and promotion charms, witchcraft and other hypnotic items, is not only capable of corrupting and eroding public morals but also, could lead to a further public scam of monumental proportions.
7. That most of her victims, who have pleaded anonymous due to the stigma associated with juju scam victims, are now living in severe grief, destroyed families, and are near or susceptible to suicide.
8. That most of the funds and proceeds of her crime were transferred to her personal account with the following details:

9. That we request as a matter of urgency that you use your good office to fully activate your crime preventive mechanism, warn unsuspecting members of the public about these heinous crimes, arrest and prosecute all offenders in this particular case, to wit; Angela Nwosu and all her cohorts on Facebook, so as to serve as a deterrent to others.
