Why Uzodimma’s wife will vote for Peter Obi as Nigeria’s next president

As my governor goes around the country trying to sell the rotten pie his Party presented as presidential candidate, I believe that if the presidential election were to be held in my governor’s bedroom, he is sure to lose it. This is because, my dear delectable sister, the First Lady of Imo State, will certainly not cast his vote for a Tinubu to become the President of Nigeria, unless, Her Excellency has been corrupted by power, that she became so selfish as not to bother about the future of her children and the many children I know she cares for.

My governor might have succeeded in delivering Imo State to the APC, for the very first time since the formation of that Party, if someone else had emerged as that Party’s presidential candidate, but with a very tainted Tinubu, it would take one with deep hatred for Nigeria and apathy for Nigeria’s survival to vote for the APC presidential candidate, but I should be confident that given the public image that has been carefully crafted for Barrister Chioma Uzodimma, she loves Nigeria, she cares about the future of her biological and many adopted children, and she will not cast a vote that will mean the damnation of our country and a bleak future for our children.

The governor’s wife is not wicked and the little I know about her, she is not also too greedy or even desperate for power and the allures of wealth, I consider her a woman who thinks more about a better future for the many innocent children who have been damaged by the perennial bad governance that Nigeria has experienced over the years, and I see her as a woman who will support, even if silently, any idea or project that gives some hope for a better Nigeria and a brighter future for our children.

My governor’s pretty wife won’t waste her vote on a candidate that has shown the worst sensitivity to our nation’s diversity and is looking bent on foisting an Islamic agenda on our nation. She cannot willingly cast a vote for the enslavement of her children and the millions of Nigerian whom I believe she desires a better future for.

If Peter Obi wasn’t on the ballot in the presidential election, maybe, Her Excellency might have been forced to stay back in her house on election day rather than cast her vote for Tinubu, but with Peter Obi on the ballot, I expect her to vote in line with her good conscience. Yes, like some of us, I expect that she will spread her vote. She can vote for APC National Assembly candidates, but on the presidential ballot, I can almost place a bet that her vote will go for Labour Party. Unless, her character is different from the reputation that has been carefully crafted for her, but I will be disappointed, and so will many of her admirers.

For political convenience, I expect that the First Lady’s media aides will quickly issue a rebuttal on this, explaining how the Imo First Lady believes that Tinubu possesses the right quality to rule Nigeria at this point in her history, but I can tell you that she doesn’t mean any word of whatever is going to be on that rebuttal. As a good African wife, she will do a rebuttal in order to be seen as being loyal to her husband, not because she doesn’t know that the best thing to do is voting for the Labour Party in the presidential election.
