Uzodimma sacks Imo concord hotel management

Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has dissolved the Interim Management Committee (IMC), of the Imo Concorde Hotel, Owerri over lack of performance.

The dissolution was contained in a statement by the Permanent Secretary, Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), J. O. Njoku.

According to the statement, the governor has equally appointed Ngozi Nwaizu as the General Manager of the hotel which was established during the administration of the late Sam Mbakwe, about 40 years ago.

The hotel has passed through phases but during the military administration, it suffered low patronage, leading to its dwindling revenue and was later privatised.

However, between 1998 and 1998, just on the onset of the Achike Udenwa administration, over N300 million was injected into it to resuscitate it. Since then, the lifeline by the state government to the hotel has reduced.
