The University of Calabar will on Saturday, honour the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Innoson Group, Innocent Chukwuma with an Honorary Causa in Business Management.
The Vice-Chancellor Prof Florence Obi disclosed this at the senate chambers during a pre-convocation press briefing.
She also added that the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Ameachi, would deliver the 34th Convocation Lecture of the University of Calabar.
According to a statement by Cornel Osigwe, Head of Corporate Communications and Affairs of the Innoson Group, the Lecture, which will hold on March 26, is themed: “The National Question and the Challenges of Nationhood in Nigeria”.
Justifying the awards, Professor Obi said: ‘These are very credible Nigerians with integrity who have employed over 5,000 people.
‘Our awards are for those who are impacting on the society and their employees and this cuts across boundaries,’ she said.
The convocation for the award of the honorary doctorate will hold on March 27th, 2021.
