Senator Stella Oduah has announced her exit from the recently inaugurated Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)/Val Ozigbo campaign organisation.

Oduah said that she was not consulted before the appointment.

She joins others like Chris Azubogu who pulled out for the same reason.

Oduah in a disclaimer by Mr. Ezennia Nonso Chukwudebe, her Director of Media and Publicity said she had no say, neither was she consulted before the list was released.

The disclaimer read in part: “The attention of the Distinguished Senator representing Anambra North, Princess Stella Adaeze Oduah OON, has just been drawn to a highly misleading publication titled: “PDP unveil high-powered Anambra State Governorship Campaign Council comprising Obi, Oduah, Udeh, Obiogbolu, Azubogu, Okwenna, others” which is currently circulating in sections of the media.

“The said publication among others falsely claims that she has been co-opted to serve in a recently constituted PDP Gubernatorial Campaign Organization for the forthcoming November 6 Anambra State election.

“The public should note that she as a ranking Senator and a former Minister of the Federal Republic, was at no time consulted or deemed important enough to be informed about this inclusion.

“She is therefore as surprised as her teeming supporters to see her name in the said publication.

“Senator Oduah neither had a say nor input on how those that drew up the list arrived at its composition. She is unpleasantly surprised at this unfortunate turn of events.

“She has no doubt that she, in this instance, speaks the minds of those that elected her when she says that she is purely focused on representing them, the great people of Anambra North, to the best of her God given ability as evident in her many skill acquisition programmes, infrastructural development, empowerment facilitations and other life changing initiatives.

“She prefers not to be distracted with issues, which by all intents and purposes, have been made quite clear that her inputs are not needed.

“It is on the strength of this and others which she may not delve into at this material time that she respectfully declines her inclusion in the campaign organization.

“This is to enable her focus on her main role of serving her people and indeed face many other duties for which she was duly elected.”

Meanwhile, a former national publicity secretary of the PDP, Olisa Metuh says he was not involved in the the party’s campaign council list for the November 6 Anambra gubernatorial election.

Ebiloma Abdullahi, Special Assistant to Chief Metuh in a statement titled ‘Anambra Election: Metuh Not Involved in Composition of PDP Campaign Council List’ said allegations that he manipulated the list was unfounded, baseless and untrue.

The statement read in part: “The attention of the former National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Chief Olisa Metuh, has been drawn to a misrepresenting report in a section of the social media, purporting that he dissociated himself from the composition of the PDP Campaign Council list in the November 6, Anambra state governorship election.

“Chief Olisa Metuh he has been in the United Kingdom for his medical treatment; a situation that has kept him away from political activities in the past few weeks, including recent arrangements for the Anambra state Gubernatorial election.

“However, to set the record straight, in the particular case of the composition of the PDP Campaign Council list, Chief Metuh was not involved and therefore not responsible for anybody’s fate in that regard.

“In view of the foregoing therefore the allegation that Chief Metuh manipulated the list is completely false, baseless and unfounded”.
