The Ebonyi State Police Command has invited one Chika Nwoba for allegedly spearheading the deletion of the Facebook account belonging to Francis Nwaze, special assistant to Governor Dave Umahi on media on publicity.

It was not immediately clear when the account with 32,000 followers was deleted but a search by standardobservers.com revealed that the account was no longer available on Facebook.

Nwoba who took to his Facebook page denied engineering the deletion of the account, adding that he does not work for Facebook and has no such powers.

He wrote: “I have been receiving phone calls and texts and have been reading posts on my profile account as to how I engineered the deleting of the account of the spokesman of the Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwaze by Facebook. Some unknown persons who claimed to be policemen called and said that I should come to the State CID, Abakaliki tomorrow and explain what I know about the deletion of Nwaze Francis’ Facebook account. They said that there’s a criminal investigation that has my name in it and as such I should come and clear my name. I am in Abuja looking after my health.

“The issue is that I don’t own Facebook that I should be able to delete anyone’s account. Facebook, according to what I learnt has said that Francis Nwaze will not use Facebook again in his life. So, he should sort himself out with the Facebook. Yes, I said earlier that I was going to fight his office for sponsoring malicious attacks on me, but that was just a writeup. If Facebook decided to prevail upon the attack on me by Nwaze, to God be the glory!

“It’s painful, however that Francis Nwaze could lose his profile account and a lot of pages with thousands of followers linked to it and never to create account again with Facebook, according to what he is reported telling people. I plead that Facebook returns his account if possible. It’s also insensitive of him to allege that I engineered the deletion of the account- the same me that he said I can’t do anything.

“I want to also use this opportunity to clear the air on the rumour of the hacking of my account. Nobody hacked my profile and page accounts. Nobody will be able to do that! Nobody at all including the Nwaze himself! I intentionally stayed out of posting and commenting so I can treat myself. I am in full control of my Facebook accounts. If my profile account was hacked as they alleged, how now am I able to post using this page linked to it? I am fully in charge of my accounts and read updates in them. I’ll soon return to operation and by the time I will do, Ebonyi people and my audience will know that I am back! I have nothing to fear about as I wear clean palms.

“However, Ebonyi people should question what Chief Obinna Iyiegbu (Obi Cubana) is doing with our governor and others at the Osborne hotel in Abakaliki tonight. Let it not be that there’s deal against Ebonyi people that they are planning to strike with him”.
