The Anambra State Police Commissioner, CP Echeng Echeng, has announced the arrests of some suspects in connection with the Ebenebe funeral killing.

CP Echeng disclosed this during a visit to the Archbishop of Onitsha Archdiocese, Most Reverend Valerian Okeke.

CP Echeng said that the visit was aimed at seeking the collaboration of the Archbishop and his counsel on how to better secure the lives and property of Ndi Anambra given the security challenges currently bedevilling the country and its negative consequences on lives and economic activities across the nation, ABS reports.

He revealed that the sad incident that happened at Ebenebe in Awka North Local Government Area over the weekend, where mourners were killed during a funeral was a cult-related incident assuring that the perpetrators will not go unpunished.

He called on communities to duly inform the police when such a scenario is most likely to happen.

In his remark, Archbishop Okeke described the visit as necessary, saying that the police need the cooperation of people to do their job effectively.

He advised the youths against vices that are currently becoming a menace to society especially cultism, internet scam and ritual killings, urging them to work hard, be patient with life, as money does not solve every problem.
