The Senator representing Abia North in the national assembly, Orji Uzor Kalu, and deputy Senate president led other Southern Senators to vote against the full electronic transmission of votes.
Other Southern Senators were absent during the voting process.
Out of 80 Senators present during plenary, 52 voted No while 28 who were mainly PDP Senators voted yes.
