Wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Dr (Mrs) Ebelechukwu Obiano has asked women groups in the state to give wife of the incoming governor, Mrs Nonye Soludo the right support to succeed.
She stated this while interacting with members of Catholic Women’s Organization, C.W.O., Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity, Onitsha, at her residence in Aguleri.
Addressing the women, the governor’s wife said that through the eight years of her husband’s administration, she enjoyed massive support from Anambra women, always reaching out to them and vice versa to interact on how best to make the position of women in governance better.
The governor’s wife noted that such support helped her greatly in both decision making and building stronger relationships with women especially.
She observed that Mrs Nonye Soludo would need similar support to succeed in her own venture, stating that the incoming governor’s wife has also shown enough sincere willingness to bring the women close.
Dr (Mrs) Obiano further stated that the active involvement of the incoming governor’s wife in last year’s tour of local government areas in Anambra State and other outings prior to the governorship election — where she was able to interact with women and children — had given her a firsthand view of is expected of her, reassuring that she is sure she would do well.
