The commissioner of Police in Imo state, Nasiru Mohammed has redeployed days after the attack on the command headquarters and the correctional centre.
Sources said the CP who was only posted to the command in February was deployed alongside other senior officers including Deputy Commissioner, Operations.
His redeployment has not been made public, however, it was gathered that the assistant police commissioner has been made the acting CP until a new CP is posted.
The source said the police authorities were embarrassed by the attack which led to the loss of arms from the command’s armoury.
It was also gathered that over 100 mobile police officers have been deployed to the state to prevent further attacks on security agents and will arrive in the state by the weekend.
