The annual fishing festival of Vintage Farms Products in Elele in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State has ended with award of to the best Fisher and other prices.
Speaking at the event, the National present of Estate Valuer, Chief Emma Okas Wike described the event as timely and reminded the younger generation of the need to have value for culture and tradition of Rivers People.
He said that their primary occupation was fishing, farming and hunting and regretted that those ways of life are now relegated.
Chief Emma Wike also described the convener of the event, Eze Sir Mike Elechi as a man of many parts, naturally blessed with good business ideas and urged him not to relent in making Agriculture a lucrative business as it then was.
The host and the Managing Director and CEO of Vintage Farms & Products, Eze Sir Mike Elechi expressed gratitude to his guests. He gave glory to God for seeing the company throughout the Covid-19 period even as the company is still waxing strong in all the products and services.
Sir Elechi who is a recipient of National Productive award wished that if government at all levels could invest on Agriculture, there would be food security in all part of the country and Nigeria will be a better place to live.
Over 1000 fishes including cat fish and tilapia were harvested through the use of hook and we’re all roasted and served to entertain the guests.
The event had in attendance the chief of staff government house, Chief Emeka Woke, National president of Nigeria Estate & Valuers, Chiref Emma Wike, former Chief Medical Director of UPTH, Prof Aron Ojule, REWAMA Boss, Felix Obua, Hon. Dr Chidi Julius Lloyd, among others.
