The Biafra Nations League (BNL), has threatened mayhem on the Nigerian military should they attempt to kill one of its leaders like the commander of the Eastern Security Network.

BNL in a statement its Chief Head, Henry Edet, warned the army and other security agencies not to attack its members in the Bakassi Peninsula or be dealt with.

Ikonso was ambushed and killed in his village, Awommama in Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State on Saturday.

Seven other persons including five villages were killed during the attack while the army lost four soldiers.

BNL condemned the actions of the military, adding that “the situation in the entire Eastern Region will worsen.”

BNL, however, noted that they would not attack securities unless they first attack them. The group added: “members of [our] Militia wing already signed their death warrant and are not afraid of attacks from security agencies.”
