Unknown gunmen have burnt down the Idemili North Local Government headquarters in Ogidi.
Also burnt were a Magistrate Court and an office of the Enugu Electric Distribution Company, EEDC.
The criminals set the facilities, including several cars parked within the premises on Sunday night.
Ikenga Tochukwu, the police public relations officer in the state confirmed the development.
He said: “Yes, the incident was confirmed, and our men were there to restore normalcy.
“Right now, the fire has been put off, and calm has been restored to the area”.
