Fulani herdsmen have again attacked Aguamade village in Eha-Amufu Town of Isi-Uzo local government area of Enugu State, killing one and abducting seven others two weeks after a similar killing occurred in the same local government area.

According to sources from the community, among the abducted is a pregnant woman while the deceased was said to be a commercial motorcycle operator.

The recent attack comes barely two weeks after 9 persons were killed by the herdsmen in Mgbuji community of Eha-mufu.

Sources from the community said the herders are demanding for a ransom of N10 million before the abducted locals will be released.

According to them, the attack occurred at about 7 pm on Wednesday at Pipeline along Eha-Amufu – Ikem road.

They gave the names of those abducted as Mercy Olinye, Joseph Ede, Joachin Odo, Odanxu Ala, Chidubem Nwokocha, and Chukwuma Odo.

It was gathered that the deceased motorcycle operator was killed because he recognised the herdsmen as people who had paid for his services earlier.

When contacted for comments on the incident, State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Daniel Ndukwe said he has not been briefed on the development.
