Mbaka asks Buhari to resign, praises Nnamdi Kanu

The spiritual director of the Adoration Ministry, Rev Father Ejike Mbaka has been suspended by the Enugu Catholic Diocese.

Mbaka was declared missing earlier in the day after he was summoned by the Bishop, Calistus Onaga.

His disappearance had sparked protests in Enugu town, leading his followers to visit the Bishop’s court, causing damage to properties and looting of valuables in the premises.

Mbaka who later reappeared to a wild jubilation by his followers thanked them for saving him, claiming that if they did not do what they did, he might have been killed.

Mbaka had last week in a scathing criticism, called for the resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari or his impeachment for the heightening insecurity.

Garba Shehu, the president’s spokesman had in a statement accused Mbaka of criticising Buhari whom he had supported twice because the president failed to award him contracts.

Mbaka fired back, saying that he only escorted people who had solutions to the lingering insecurity to Aso Rock for them to help solve them.

Sources said Bishop Onaga who was angry over Mbaka’s spat with the president, stepped in to stop further escalation of tension between Mbaka and the presidency.

The bishop, however, ordered Mbaka to proceed on suspension with effect from May 3.
