Buhari in a townhall meeting with Igbo leaders, promises to help Uzodimma fight insecurity

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday met with Southeast leaders in Imo state at a Town Hall in Owerri.

Buhari’s parley with Igbo leaders is coming at the backdrop of agitation by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

The meeting was disclosed by one of Buhari’s Media Aides, Tolu Ogunlesi via his Facebook page.

“The President is now participating in a Town Hall Meeting with South-East Leaders, having gone round Owerri to commission a series of infrastructure projects by Governor Hope Uzodinma,” Ogunlesi wrote.

Meanwhile, President Buhari has pledged to help the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma fight insecurity.

Buhari said he would use his constitutional powers to assist Uzodinma in fighting insecurity in the state.

He spoke during the commissioning of the Egbeada-Onitsha bypass road in Owerri.

The president also pledged to help Uzodinma deal with the infrastructural deficits of the state.

He said: “I have gone round and I am impressed with what I saw. A society without security and infrastructure will not progress and luckily this is where my vision has tallied with the governor of Imo State. I will use my power as enshrined by the constitution to make the governor achieve more.”
