Unknown gunmen are currently attacking a police station at the Orji axis of the Owerri/Okigwe road in Imo state.
Reports say the station has been burnt down. It was also gathered that the gunmen operated unhindered for over 45 minutes.
The station was also burnt down during the 2020 #EndSARS protest.
Eyewitnesses said the gunmen told traders and passersby not to panic.
Bala Elkana, police spokesman in the state said: “We are repelling them. The war is ongoing. There is heavy security operatives detachment to the scene. We have taken the way to them. We are wining. There is a high number of casualties on the side of the hoodlums.”
