A presidential aspirant in the 2019 election, Omoyele Sowore has said that Tunde Bakare, the general-overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church (CGCC) is dissing Igbos in order to obtain debt forgiveness.
Bakare, a former vice-presidential candidate sparked controversy last week after claiming that former Prime Minister, Tafala Belewa cursed Igbos.
The claims were met with backlash from Igbos who explained that no one knew how the Prime Minister died.

But while adding his voice to the controversy, Sowore said Bakare who it was revealed took an N9 billion loan to build a church was dissing Igbos as a way of paying back his debts to be bank allegedly owned by Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State and national leader of the All Progressives Congress.
Sowore in a post on his verified Facebook page wrote: “Pastor Tunde “Shakabula” Bakare in an attempt to pay back N9b loan to Tinubu’s Wema Bank is dissing Igbos. Never borrow from the Devil! #WeCantContinueLikeThis”
