Stephanie Otobo, a Canada-based Nigerian singer who claimed to have had an amorous relationship years ago with Apostle Johnson Suleman, the General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries has claimed the preacher wanted her to amount to nothing.
Miss Otobo in a series of tweets under the handle @stephanieocean said the preacher used police to arrest her when she came back to Nigeria for a video shoot with dancehall singer, Timaya.
Recall that in January 2018, a video emerged of Otobo accusing the preacher of impregnating her and breaching a promise to marry her.
She later said she was paid to defame the pastor in a u-turn when she addressed the Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide congregation.
According to her, some “very strong and powerful politicians and pastors” deceived her.
But in an interview by a blogger, Maureen Badejo in February 2022, she explained that she made the confession in Suleman’s church under duress as she was already tired of the court processes, particularly with the transfer of the case from an incorruptible judge to another.
According to her, the suit in Nigeria had a strain on her finances as she had to move to and fro the country and Canada incurring expenses over flight tickets and accommodation among others.
She alleged that Phrank Shuaibu, a media aide to Suleman, approached her and asked that the case be settled if only she could make an open confession in church stating that her initial confession was false which she agreed to.
She said, “People are nailing me for going to the church to apologise, I want you to know that I’m in my 20s, something just happened. I was lost, I was going to court for more than 2 years and I couldn’t stay in Nigeria because I was going to Canada, I flew back from Canada to Nigeria 16 times, people are just seeing that part and they weren’t seeing what I was going through”.
But the singer again resumed attacks on the preacher on Monday.
While sharing purported screenshots of her video call with the preacher, she wrote “If these screenshots were fake, how did I get his pics that aren’t public pics at the first place and how come I’m the first to release this kind of pics of him? He has changed his hairstyle twice since I came out to speak up with receipts. He has done alot to appear different🤣.
“If the dick pic isn’t his, what is he gonna say about the scar oh his left thigh? His wife can’t deny that scar. How did I know he has a scar on his left thigh if we we didn’t have intimacy? Lol. If he’s denying it, he should open up his thigh let’s see. His nails too says it all💅.
“Some people kept on wondering why I came out esposing apostle Johnson Suleman, and why I haven’t let go ever since. The truth is that I never planned to. He pushed me to the wall and the only way I could fight back was to cry out and made everything known. The devil smile👿.
“Apostle Johnson Suleman tried using police to shut me up because I visited Nigeria to do feature Timaya in a song. I already paid Clarence Peters for the visuals of the song before oga arrested me, cos I refused to obey him to go back to Canada. He wanted me to amount to nothing.
