The Anambra State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs Ify Obinabo has frowned over the death of the Late Osinachi Nwachukwu allegedly as a result of domestic violence.
The commissioner who received members of the Nigerian Association of Women Journalists, Anambra State Chapter in her office at Professor Dora Akunili’s Women development centre, Awka, decried the violence of all forms especially those against women.
She appealed to parents to allow their daughters who are in abusive marriages to come back to them as she noted that separation is not divorce.
She said that Anambra women are not happy with the terrible death of their wife while calling on victims of abuse and family and friends who know one facing such a situation to speak up.
Mrs Obinabo who noted that the Ministry will operate an open-door policy said that as a proud broadcaster, she will use her office to sensitize women on issues, particularly those pertaining to violence.
