A joint taskforce of the Anambra State Government led by the Physical Planning Board has sealed off the building site of an ongoing structure which collapsed on Thursday.
The collapsed building, a five storey building still under construction, situated at A-Class Avenue, St John Paul Estate, Umuogali Village, Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area caved in on Thursday night.
Executive Chairman of the Board, Barrister Chike Maduekwe revealed that contrary to reports making the rounds in the media, no casualty was recorded.
He emphasized that no approval was secured for the project as the staff of the board always face resistance from people of the area from monitoring any development project.
The President General of Umuogali Village, Dr. Kingsley Obasoanya who decried the activities of the locals, revealed that the developer is in far away in Spain.
He explained further that the indigenes of the village have since launched a search for the contractor supervising the project.
