Anambra State Police on Sunday vowed to arrest the killers of some its personnel along Ezeiwka road, Awada, Onitsha Anambra State.
Recall that the gunmen in the early hours of Sunday killed two police officers in Onitsha, and set their operational vehicle ablaze.
Reacting to the development, the state command spokesman, Dsp Ikenga Tochukwu, in a statement said the command has intensified patrol and surveillance in the state especially within Onitsha axis aimed of identifying and arresting the perpetrators of the Sunday attack.
He said preliminary investigation by the police revealed that at about 9.30am on 19/09/2021 the attackers drove in sienna vehicle, ash in colour and started shooting at the patrol vehicle along Ukegbu junction, Ezeiweka road.
He said that during the exchange of gunfire, one police inspector paid the supreme price and some sustained gunshots injuries.
He said the criminals in a bid to escape the police responding team, set the patrol vehicle ablaze.
