Anambra marks Odumeje’s Church for demolition

In line with the quest of Governor Chukwuma Soludo to make Onitsha and metropolis a liveable city, the Anambra State government has marked some buildings blocking waterways for demolition.

Soludo had said in the first week of his inauguration that his administration will remove all illegal structures and demolish buildings on flood channels in the state.

He said all structures whether they are churches, industries or residential buildings built along flood channels like Sakamori, Nwangene stream, Otumoye and other areas would be pulled down soon.

Some of the structures at Zik’s avenue, Fegge , Ochanja market, Biafran market and Main market Onitsha have been penciled for demolition.

Also, some churches including the Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention Deliverance Ministry Onitsha (a.k.a land of freedom and miracle centre) along Creek Road, Fegge, Onitsha has also been marked for demolition for compromising the city plan and blocking the drainage system.

The Anambra government on Tuesday marked the church owned by Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje in Fegge for demolition.

The Government marked the popular church with a red sign that reads “Remove”.

Odumeje who was last seen with the governor during a cleaning up exercise in Onitsha two weeks ago did not immediately respond to enquiries for comment.
