Woman dies while chasing husband and side-chick in Calabar

One Mrs Clara Bassey has died from a car crash while chasing her husband Barrister Sunny Bassey and his side-chick simply identified as Leticia.

Mr Bassey husband and is said to be an indigene of Akwa-Ibom, while the late wife is an indigene of Abia State.

According to an eye witnesses, Stephen Okposin, the accident happened earlier on Sunday at the Murtarla Mohammed Highway in Calabar.

“The lady saw her hubby at Spar shop with another woman in the car, so she hurriedly drove to double cross them. This man saw her car and zoomed off, so the woman became aggressive and sped up.

“I was just driving behind them just in less than 3 minutes I saw her involved in the accident and she’s unconscious at point of death. The hubby that was running suddenly dropped off the lady who was with him and rushed down to to assist revive her from the car.

“She’s been rushed to the hospita and later confirmed that she is dead.”

The sector commander of the FRSC in Cross River, Maikano Hassan, confirmed a lone crash in which a middle-aged woman died in Calabar.

Mr Hassan stated that the incident was caused by speeding.

He explained that the lone crash on Murtala Mohammed Road saw the Toyota Highlander the woman was driving skid off the road into a ditch by the highway.

“Though the woman was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, she was pronounced dead minutes later due to injury sustained from the incident,” said the FRSC official.

It was gathered that the woman was pursuing her husband, alleged to be with a side chick in his car.
