We’re in Lagos for consolidation – Rangers FC Coach

Chief coach of Rangers International F.C, Mbwas Mangut has assured the club’s numerous fans that the team is in Lagos for the maximum points at stake to consolidate its 3rd position on the log and keep the pressure on the leading duo as it trades tackles with Lagos side, M.F.M F.C.

The encounter which is a match day 26, NPFL 2021/2022 fixture will hold inside the main bowl of Teslim Balogun stadium, Lagos, on Sunday, May 1, 2022 will have the coach Abdul Maikaba tutored side engage the ‘Olukoya Babes’ who currently occupy the bottom place on the log for all available points at stake to enhance the ‘Flying Antelopes’ prospects this season.

Coach Mangut in a chat said, “The match in Lagos will be a tough one as we are playing against a team that is currently bruised and wounded and would come out with all in their arsenals to fight for survival but we have our works cut out which is to fight for the three points at stake and consolidate our position and chase of the leading duo. We are well prepared for the assignment as the players appreciate the task at hand and are determined to up their game against M.F.M. I am optimistic of a good match with a good result.”

In the reverse fixture, it was goals from Tope Olusesi and Ossy Martins that separated both sides in Nnewi to give Rangers the bragging rights in the 12th encounter between both sides that has seen five drawn matches, four wins for the Enugu side and three for the Lagos side.

Incidentally, Ossy Martins, the leading scorer for Rangers on eight goals is available for selection for this fixture just as Chidiebere Nwobodo, Kenechukwu Agu, David Chimezie, Ifeanyi Nweke and others are expected to come up with another top performance.

The visitors will be missing the services of former ‘Church Boy’, Bala Akintunde who is out injured just as captain of the side, Tope Olusesi; midfield maestro, Ugochukwu Ugwuoke; and Samuel Pam won’t play any part in this encounter.
