World Igbo Congress, an umbrella body for Ndigbo living abroad says it will support every good agenda aimed at protecting life and property of IGBO people.

The Congress stated following the announcement of the suspension of the weekly sit-at-home order issued by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

IPOB said suspension of the sit-at-home order followed a directive by its detained leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, adding that it will observe the sit-at-home on days Kanu will appear in court for his trial.

Reacting to the suspension of the sit-at-home, WIC said it does not make decisions for the group.

The Congress wrote on its official twitter handle that “WIC supports every good agenda that will protect the life and property of IGBO people.

“WIC does not make decisions for IPOB and WIC cannot change the policy put in place by the leadership of IPOB. We continue to support all Igbo organizations including ESN”.
