Over two hundred persons said to be from the Northern part of the country have been discovered undergoing training inside an uncompleted building in Rivers community.

It was learnt that the trainees were discovered on Tuesday following noise and unusual activities in the area.

The building is said to be inside the bush in the Alode community, Eleme local government area of the state.

Sources knowledgeable in the matter said that the trainees comprising of a sizeable number of young girls were rounded up by community youths who invited the district police officer of Eleme and his team to arrest them.

The sources said some of the arrested claimed they came into the state for Navy recruitments.

It was learnt that a man who claimed to be a captain providing training for them was also arrested by the police.

According to the source, the trainees were ferried by the rapid response team of the state command to the police headquarters at Moscow Road, Port Harcourt.

Nnamdi Omoni, the public relations officer of the state police command did not immediately respond to inquiries for comments as at the time of filing this report as his phone lines were switched off.

The Nigerian Navy base in Onne also refused to comment on the matter when contacted by our correspondent.
