Angry Twitter users have slammed former vice-president and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP presidential aspirant, Atiku Abubakar for deleting posts which condemned the killing of Deborah Yakubu by an irate Muslim mob for alleged blasphemy.
Deborah Yakubu was killed in Shehu Shagari College of Education, Wamakko, Sokoto State on Thursday for allegedly blaspheming Prophet Mohammed.
Her killing and setting ablaze drew wide condemnation including from Atiku but he quickly deleted his after Muslims said that they won’t vote for him for condemning the action.
Atiku, himself a professing Muslim quickly deleted the post and tweet. The deletion drew sharp criticism from Christians who said he was afraid of condemning his base.
He later wrote on another Hausa Facebook account that the post was made without his orders.
.
But tweeps slammed the former vice president for failing to rise above religious sentiments in a pluralistic society.
Atiku was not really sympathetic
Tried to appease the South, saw reaction from the North, deleted
He feels it’s better not to offend the North than offend the South because Southerners are slaves and will vote for him anyways

Atiku Abubakar and Aminu Waziri Tambuwal will never be the Presidents of this country Insha Allah.

This is really embarrassing for Atiku and his team. pic.twitter.com/VqF9is8ZW9

Atiku’s deleted tweet is why we must vote a Southern Christian to Aso Rock in 2023 regardless of their political party.
GEJ, Peter Obi, Amaechi and Osinbajo are all good to go

Why did @atiku delete this tweet?
Did you change your mind about justice for Deborah?
Did you change your mind about offering your condolences?
Is it that you have now found justification for the gruesome murder? pic.twitter.com/J8E1ZhWT1K

I don’t want any Southern candidate to comment on this. Osinbajo, Obi, Wike etc. If they talk, they will quickly say they hate islam because they are Christians
Let the Muslim candidates lead by example. Talk to your people that this is wrong. Saraki, Atiku, Tambuwal, Tinubu etc

Atiku deleting the tweet condemning the gruesome murder of Deborah shows what we have been preaching this whole election season.
Politicians don’t care for the people. They only play to the gallery when seeking for our votes. The people must see beyond these gimmicks…— MrMacaroni (@mrmacaronii) May 13, 2022
Atiku is now denying he ever made that Facebook post, on his verified Facebook account. He now typed in Hausa. Is 11m votes your mate?🤣 pic.twitter.com/vsisK6D69D

It is sad that Atiku had to delete his personal stand against barbarism, it is even sadder to see some Nigerians gleefully defend barbarism and murder, and even made it a factor for votes. 🤮

Northerners promised to punish Atiku with their votes and he pulled the tweets down.
Interesting!

Atiku deleting that post condemning Deborah's murder is yet another proof politicians rarely mean what they say; they only say what they think the people want to hear.
They've mastered the art of gallery play & will back down at the slightest threat to their political ambitions.

Atiku’s Twitter & Facebook handlers are amateurs. I know one of them, & he is reading this tweet. I wish I could say sorry to him. OMG!!😭
Atiku is now a victim of a divided nation. ONE NIGERIA defeated!💔
— NEFERTITI (@firstladyship) May 13, 2022
Atiku Abubakar deleted his tweet condemning the murder of Deborah In sokoto because Muslims are threatening not to vote for him. His ambition is more important than human life. A vote for Atiku is a vote for islamists. But a vote for Peter Obi is a vote for humanists.

The fact that Atiku deleted that post he made about the killing of that girl tells y'all an average northern elite is a potential extremist / Jihad advocate.
DO NOT SUPPORT ATIKU FOR PRESIDENT
