A trending video of verbal assaults between former allies, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), and former leader of the Niger Delta Volunteer Force, Asari Dokubo is not recent.
Dokubo in the video shot in 2018 was reacting to Kanu’s accusation that he defrauded him of N20m.
Asari had on several occasions accused Nnamdi Kanu of standing against the restoration of Biafra.
He also accused the IPOB leader of using the “Biafran struggle” as a business venture, claiming Nnamdi Kanu has been diverting funds meant for the Biafran cause.
Nnamdi Kanu had asked him to stay off Biafra agitation and concentrate on being a pipeline security guard.
“Tell him I don’t even react to a mask-wearing Buhari imposter talk less of a hungry filthy pig that conned me of 20M Naira,” Kanu said.
“When world leaders or respected commentators talk about Biafra, I respond. I can’t dignify a petty pipeline security guard with a response. He should focus on his business ventures and leave freedom fighting to freedom fighters.
“For a man of his bloated stature to belatedly realise that his father is Fulani, tells you all you need to know about him.”
However, Dokubo in the lengthy video said that Kanu has failed to make public donations made to the course.
He said: “They are now telling us India, Russia etc. This is how they audit accounts. This is what Biafra will look like under the criminal Nnamdi Kanu.
“They claim that they brought money to Cotonou to give to me — N20 million. We are waiting for them to bring the evidence. They came to Cotonou to meet with me and I hosted them. They did not bring a dime.
“How is that an audited account? Why do Igbo people allow you, a conman, to be conning them? Igbos, you have to rise. He wants to destroy Onyeama. He wants to destroy Ekweremadu. He wants to destroy everybody and the Igbo people are keeping quiet.
“Biafra is your business now, you have no other avenue for gainful income. It is a pity how Igbo people have fallen for this evil, but your time is up.”
Dokubo also accused the IPOB leader of turning the struggle into a personal source of income.
The ex-militant narrated how he treated IPOB members who were injured during violence in the Southeast.
They came to Cotonou to meet me, I hosted them, I fed them, they didn’t bring a dime.
“I had paid several medical bills for IPOB members in different places they have been injured.
“But Nnamdi Kanu thinks that because he is a thieve and because stealing, fraudulent, drug-pushing, human parts trafficking, is so wide with Igbo people, he can control everybody.
“You want to form a nation with Igbos, it definitely will be a criminal country.
“I have never looked for Nnamdi Kanu. He was the one looking for my contact everywhere. Some of my followers who came to me to join IPOB, I allowed them to do so.
“He is always doing the callings. I have never picked up my phone to call him before. Because he is the one who knows when he is free in the prison to call.
“He called and begged that there should be cooperation, to which I agreed. Nnamdi Kanu is a supreme coward.
“I am out for you. And I will get you. I just asked that our people be allowed to vote and you sent your dogs. I’ve broken their teeth.”
