Suspected political thugs have attacked a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP campaign team in Rivers State, Mr Wisdom Enyi, while trying to paste the campaign posters of the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar in Omuma LGA.
Enyi, the Coordinator of the Media wing of Atiku’s Support Team, alleged that the attack was carried out by supporters of Kelechi Nwogu, a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly and a candidate for the Etche-Omuma Federal Constituency.
According to him, he was stabbed multiple times and shot at. He has since been hospitalized and struggling to survive the cuts inflicted on him.
When contacted for comments, the Rivers State Police Command spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, said the command was unaware of the attack.
