Terrorists have shot dead the chairman of the Miyyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in the Gwagwalada Area Council of Abuja, Adamu Aliyu.
Daily Trust reports that Adamu Aliyu was killed alongside four other persons near Daku village in Dobi ward of the council on Thursday.
Mohammed Usman, the Secretary of MACBAN who confirmed this on Sunday, said that three other persons were abducted, while three others who sustained gunshot wounds were receiving treatment at the University of Teaching Hospital in Gwagwalada.
Usman said that the late MACBAN chairman was returning from the Izom market in Niger State in a Dyna truck with three others when the terrorists suddenly emerged from the bush and opened fire on the truck, killing them.
He said: “They were returning from Izom market in Niger state where they went to sell cows, until just one kilometre to Daku village when the bandits suddenly emerged from the bush and opened fire on the truck, killing the MACBAN chairman and four others”.
He added that their remains had been buried according to Islamic rites.
