A Professor Chukwuma Soludo-sponsored group, the coalition of Anambra Youths Leaders, under the aegis of Anambra Youth Solidarity Forum, has asked the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, to withdraw from the race and join forces in negotiating for the political future of Ndigbo.

The group, which spoke through its spokesperson, Mr Chuks Uloka, said the request followed the very timely treatise by Governor Chukwuma Soludo, who served as Chairman of, the Planning and Strategy Committee of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo worldwide.

According to them, Governor Soludo stated the facts as if it were not minding whose ox is gored, stating that it takes a lot of courage and political will for any politician from southeast extraction, to make the very firm, bold and factual statements as Governor Soludo did.

They said that the timely intervention by the Governor had given leeway to other prominent Igbo leaders who had refused to air an opinion on this matter to come forward with more critical thinking and analysis.

They said that the zikist politics of bridge building gave Ndi Igbo their best chance in the political history of Nigeria.

The group wants Ndigbo not to be emotional about the presidential election as, according to them, an Igbo man cannot be President of Nigeria without a formidable alliance with at least an arm of other major regions that make up Nigeria.

They advised those hauling insults and threats on Governor Soludo, members of his family and other very well-meaning and prominent Igbo leaders, whose opinions differ from theirs, to desist from the act as they warned that all forms of abuse would no longer be tolerated.
