Heavily armed security agents on Monday set ablaze a house said to belong to a dealer in Methamphetamine Hydrochloride, known as Mkpuru mmiri in Umuebo in Umuezeala ward popular known as Abba Branch of Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo state.
It was gathered that the security operatives set the building on fire and ensured that it was completely burnt down before they left.
Villagers said the suspect who is a dealer of Mkpurumiri lived in the house with other tenants.
The villagers expressed sadness that the property of other tenants was burnt, adding that not even a single item was taken out of the house.
They said that their fears were compounded as Monday was also a sit-at-home day.
A villager said, “as I speak to you, everybody is indoors. Fear is in the air. Everybody is being careful. Nobody wants to be caught in the web. We are calling on God to restore normalcy in our land.”
Mike Abattam, the public relations officer of the Imo State Police Command said the command was not aware of such development.
