Polo Park Development Company has introduced an N500 convenience fee due to water scarcity in Enugwu.
This was contained in a circular to tenants of the facility signed by Ngozi Okechukwu, its Centre Manager.
According to the circular dated April 16, “the water challenge in recent times has been a source of both concern and inconvenience to us all.
“We, therefore, write to inform you that Centre Management is proposing some measures to manage the situation while we work towards a permanent solution.
“Moving forward, the convenience will no longer be available to the public for free, anyone that is not a staff of the Mall would be required to pay a fee of 500,00 to access the convenience.
“This new development is simply to discourage people who do not have any business with the Mall from using the convenience at undue cost to the tenants.
“Do note that this is a temporary measure and thus we would revert to status quo as soon as the general water situation normalizes
“Pleased be informed that your staff would be required to present their staff identity cards before they are granted access to the convenience as a result of this.
“Other modalities for its operation will be made known to all in due course. We regret all inconveniences this new development may cause and assure you that it’s for the overall convenience of all concerned”.
