Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi has intensified campaigns in the North Central Region of the country with visits to Agaba-Idu HRM Elaigwu Odogbo Obagaji John Och’Idoma V and Tor Tiv, Prof James Ayatse in Benue State.
The former Governor of Anambra state had last week visited Benue State to console with the Benue flood victims where he had donated 5 million Naira to Benue flood victims.
The LP presidential candidate was accompanied by Chief Dennis Ekpe Ogbu, Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, who represented H.E Governor Samuel Ortom on the visit. He was also in the company of Labour Party Zone C senatorial Candidate, RT Hon. Joseph Ojobo, Rtd. Major General Harrison Adoga an elder of LP in the state as well as the state Party Chairman.
Obi said he came purposely to pay homage and personally intimate His Majesty of his aspiration to lead Nigeria into its desired place in the comity of nations by contesting in the 2023 general elections.
The Labour Party Presidential candidate also states his desire to offer himself as a tool that God will use to bring about real transformation to Nigeria as a Nation. He anchored his viewpoint on character, capacity, courage, competence, and commitment to change Nigeria from a consumption economy to a Production one
In his remark, His Royal Majesty, Elaigwu Obagaji Odogbo John Och’Idoma V expressed gladness in receiving the Labour Party candidate in His temporary palace in Otukpo, the ancestral headquarters of The Idoma Kingdom.
His Royal Majesty intimated to him the true yearnings and expectations of Nigerians. He said “we as a people are not looking for a tribal, regional, or religious President but a President that will possess the attributes which can be built on principles of Character, Capacity, Courage, Competence, Commitment, and Clarity to bring meaningful and visible development to the Country”.
His Royal Majesty furthermore, counseled that though Royal Fathers are apolitical, “we will be praying for all the candidates so that the will of God will be done especially those who are passionate to take this Country out of the current deplorable situation we find ourselves”.
He said that one of the basic fundamental human needs is safety and security, which is currently a big challenge facing the Country. He however prayed for God’s intervention and mercy on our dear Country.
Prayers were thereafter offered for the candidate and the whole Country, that will of God shall prevail this time around.
