The funeral rites of Osinachi Nwachukwu, the deceased crooner of the chart-topping worship song, ‘Ekwueme’ has been released by her family.
Nwachukwu died on April 8 from alleged brutality from her husband Peter Nwachukwu.
Recall that the police had arrested him and were charged him for allegedly battering his late wife, a crime that contravenes Sections 104 and 379 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, (ACJA) 2015, Section 221 of the Penal Code and the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Act (VAPP) 2015.
Nwachukwu had denied brutalizing Osinachi to death, stressing that she died of lung cancer.
Despite his denial, the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, High Court remanded him in Kuje Correctional Facility.
Nwachukwu’s funeral rites began on Tuesday with a praise night at Michael Okpara Square in Enugu where she grew up.
She will be laid to rest at her hometown of Isochi, in Umunochi of Abia State on Saturday.
