Onyeka Owenu, Charlie Boy resign from Soludo’s committee

Musicians Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, popularly known as Charlie Boy and Onyeka Owenu have resigned from the Truth, Justice and Peace Committee set up by Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

The duo did not state the reasons for their withdrawal from the committee but Charlie Boy while announcing his withdrawal wrote on social media: “Sorry I don’t do well with bullshit”.

On June 23, Soludo inaugurated the 17-man committee chaired by Prof. Chidi Anslem Odinkalu whose primary aim is to “identify the remote and immediate causes of the agitations, restiveness, violence, and struggle in the South East since 1999. Document victims/ circumstances of death, brutality and incarceration.

“Identify stakeholders and groups who have played critical roles in the agitation and conflicts, their roles, capabilities and demands.

“Document victims/ circumstances of death, brutality and incarceration. Identify stakeholders and groups who have played critical roles in the agitation and conflicts, their roles, capabilities and demands.

“Address any other issue(s) that may be germane to unravelling the extent of the crises and charting the roadmap to the future.

“Make recommendations for sustainable peace and security in Anambra State/Southeast.

“The Memos shall be sealed and Addressed to the Secretary, Anambra State Truth, Justice and Peace Committee and shall be in twenty (20) copies and submitted -the same Office.”

Iyom Bianca Ojukwu, a member of the committee had in June after its inauguration urged the public to send memoranda.
