Obi’s emergence as LP presidential candidate, a beacon of hope – Otti

Dr Alex Otti, a Labour Party (LP) governorship aspirant in Abia State on the platform has assured Nigerians there would be no regrets in voting Peter Obi as the president next year.

Speaking after Obi’s emergence as the LP presidential flagbearer on Monday in Asaba, Delta State, Otti described Obi as not just a national asset, but a beacon of hope.

The ex-banker in a statement by his Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma, Otti said he was sure Obi possessed the right attributes to address the country’s current challenges and lead Nigeria back to its pride of place within the global economy.

Otti said: “Okwute is a national asset, a beacon of hope, and a colossus of high proportion whose administrative skills, managerial acumen and honourable disposition in leadership have contributed immensely to resetting and reshaping the hitherto pervasive mindset of mediocrity and profligacy in public service.

“Obi’s leadership excellence and accomplishments anchored on cost-cutting, are being made manifest today as many Nigerians have begun to see the genius in the man he has known for years.”

Otti further explained that the mere fact that another accomplished and iconic Nigerian, Prof. Pat Utomi, found Obi worthy enough of being stepped down for in the presidential primaries spoke eloquently about how highly placed and revered Obi was.

The former bank chief praised Prof. Utomi, who he described as an internationally respected intellectual, for his sacrifice for good governance in the country.

Otti thanked LP leaders and members for finding Obi worthy of flying its flag.

He prayed that God would give Obi the strength and wisdom to pursue his presidential contest smoothly and emerge victorious.
