Valentine Ozigbo, the flag-bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2021 Anambra governorship election, has declared the November 6 election as the beginning of a new dawn in the southeastern state.

Mr Ozigbo made this known on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, when the PDP took its local government campaign rally to Onitsha South LGA.

While speaking earlier at the event, the Minority Leader of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe, expressed conviction that Ozigbo would emerge as the next governor of Anambra State.

According to the respected lawmaker, only PDP can rescue Anambra State, and Ozigbo is the only candidate to ensure that Anambra experiences progress, development and economic growth.

Also addressing the large crowd, the immediate past Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency Peter Obi, assured that Ozigbo would leverage his rich experience at blue-chip companies to ensure economic competitiveness and rapid development.

In his brief remarks, Ozigbo asserted his determination to rehabilitate Onitsha, create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive and guarantee the security of business investments.

“We plan to open Anambra to business, increase competitiveness, and make Onitsha the hotbed for our commercial revolution,” Ozigbo, a multiple award-winning global CEO, said.

“Onitsha is a special place to me, and it is evident in my choice of Mrs Azuka Enemo as my running mate and Dr Alex Obiogbolu as the Director-General of our campaign organisation.

“November 6 is a date with destiny that will usher in a new dawn for Anambra State. We have a responsibility to play our part in taking Anambra out of its sorry state.

“His Excellency Peter Obi and Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe are two of the most respected Igbo leaders alive, and I am proud to receive their endorsement.

“They are the leading voices for Ndi Igbo in Nigeria, and I want to follow in their footsteps and be another voice for Ndi Igbo,” Ozigbo said to loud cheers from the crowd.

In her address, Mrs Enemo, the PDP deputy governorship candidate,
urged the people to come out massively to vote on November 6.
