Chimaroke Nnamani, a former governor of Enugu State, has emerged the winner of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senatorial primary election for the Enugu East Senatorial District.
Nnamani won all the valid votes cast at the election which was held on Tuesday.
A total of 243 delegates took part in the primary election. The result was announced by the chairman of the PDP Election Committee, Mr Chinedu Onuh.
It was gathered that one of the aspirants, Mr Joshua Mba stepped down on the grounds that Nnamani is a political leader and had done so much for Nkanu land.
Another aspirant, Mrs Ifeoma Nwobodo did not show up for the election.
