Professor Godswill Obioma, the registrar of National Examination Council, NECO has been killed by unknown gunmen who strangled him in what his wife suspected to be an assassination.
Elizabeth Obioma, his wife told newsmen on phone on Tuesday morning that the suspected assassins took nothing away after killing him.
She said “The assassins came in and killed him and left without taking anything,”
Mrs Obioma said her husband had just returned to Minna from a trip to Abuja when the armed men, lurking in his compound, descended on him and strangled him.
The 67-year-old native of Abia State was appointed head of NECO barely a year ago on May 14, 2020.
