The Anambra State police command says its operatives foiled the attempted kidnap of a minor in Nnewi.
The command said its operatives responded to a distress call at Okpunoeze Uruagu, Nnewi when a man under the false pretence of being an okada rider went into a compound and tried to abduct a minor.
CSP Haruna Mohammed, the public relations officer of the command in a statement said the suspect identified as Ikechukwu Odoh ‘m’, aged 25 years of Ehamifu in Isiuzo LGA of Enugu State allegedly went into a compound and attempted to snatch a four-month-old baby named Success Odeh from her mother.

Mohammed said the mother resisted and screamed for help which attracted the attention of the neighbours who in conjunction with local vigilante assisted the police in arresting the suspect.
He said the case is under investigation to ascertain the motive behind such act after which the suspect will be brought to justice.
